A Special Report

By a majority church vote conducted last Sunday (9/7), we will invite Pastor Hugenot, an interim ministry specialist, to assist us in finding an interim pastor and in our search for a new pastor. His assistance is to support the members of Second Baptist church in the decision-making process by helping to define and execute the necessary steps and informing us of available resources. All decisions will be made by the members of our church. As we move forward with the search, the chairperson of the trustees will call a meeting to “elect a Search Committee of seven (7) members and two (2) alternates, whose duty it shall be to investigate and recommend a candidate for vacancy and whose name shall be submitted to the qualified voters of the church for consideration,” (Second Baptist Church Constitution and By-Laws, Article IV, Section 1).
