A Mother’s Heart
by Bette McGregor
The door that leads to a mother’s heart
is always open wide,
and in her heart is a special place
where peace and love abide.
There is no lock on a mother’s heart,
her children freely go
for a pat on the cheek
or a comforting word
or something they want to know.
Through years of work and prayer,
she learned her wise and tender art.
For the nearest thing to the love of God
is the love of a mother’s heart.
Happy Mother’s Day!
