Urgent Need Request from Pastor John Buskey
I am writing you with an urgent need. We have several people who have asked for scholarships to camp this year. In the past we have absorbed the cost of kids who need to come to camp. In the current economy, we need to ask for help to offset the rising costs of fair pay for staff, insurance and grocery costs increasing.
Why help? Please read the two excerpts below, we could have chosen from many others:
“I can’t tell you what a difference we see in our daughter since her return from camp! Her grandfather even noticed it when she came home last night. The joy in her voice and in her face is absolutely AMAZING! Please forgive me when I seem so very overjoyed!! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen her this happy!! I can’t thank you, John and the staff enough for making such a difference in her life.”
A young man gave his shocking story, “I come from a troubled home (details eliminated for privacy of camper) … at camp I am learning that God has used my hard times to prepare me for something great. I don’t know what that is yet, but I can help others now who are also having a hard time in life… God is real and is always watching out for me even when it is really hard.”
So what’s the urgent need? We need one time sponsors, whether churches or individuals who will help support a child at camp. $500 will change a life!
Also there are still camps available to attend. We have room at both Camp Vick and Pathfinder Lodge for children to come.
