Sermon Notes…
A Plea for Help in Haiti
Many of you know Haitian missionary pastor Laguerre. His only means of transportation is a pickup truck, which he uses to transport people and supplies in his ministry there in Haiti. Unfortunately, Pastor Laguerre had registered his pickup truck in Dominican Republic, the other nation that shares the large island with Haiti. Some time back, the Haitian authorities impounded the pickup and are demanding that Pastor Laguerre pay the import duties and fines, amounting to $10,000. Other supporters have donated $7000 toward the $10000, but have asked others to raise the remaining $3000.
As is typical with these things, the authorities are threatening to sell the truck if Pastor Laguerre cannot pay the money.
If you feel led to help Pastor LaGuerre out of this jam, please put your donation in an envelope and mark it “TRUCK”, and place it in the offering plate so that our money handlers will know what to do with it.
